While they should be celebrated EVERY day of the year, Mother’s Day is the one day we collectively honor the work they do. We at Foodboro are doing our part by recognizing 12 food and beverage brands founded by badass female entrepreneurs and mothers, because as if being a mother wasn’t a full-time job in and of itself.

Natalia Dalton - Saucy Lips Foods

After moving to the US from Mexico, Natalia and her family started making amazing hot sauces and marinades inspired by her mothers' recipes, which have now grown to be carried in stores nationwide!

Daphne Herlihy - Oats in Coats

Daphne and her cofounder started Oats in Coats to bring healthy, nutrition-packed breakfasts (that are free from allergens) to families nationwide.

Christy Goldsby - Honey Mama's

Therese Dozier - LUVSPUN

The idea for LUVSPUN was sown in 2014 out of wanting to give her kids one of her favorite childhood treats - yummy, fluffy cotton candy - but realizing that her kids (one of which who is on the Autism Spectrum) may be negatively impacted by ingredients such as artificial colors and preservatives.

Clara Paye - UNiTE Food

Clara wanted to capture the magic of family favorites made in kitchens across the globe. So with the help of some beloved neighbors and friends – all representing different nationalities – Clara developed a global sampling of nostalgic, childhood flavors. UNiTE Food was born to shake up the run-of-the-mill bar aisle – inviting customers to discover and taste the delicious diversity of flavors from around the world. No passport required!

Camila Gusmão - Botanica Origins

Camila is the co-founder of Botanica Origins,a brand that offers single-origin superfoods ethically sourced from theirnative habitat. Born & raised in the Amazon region of Brazil, Camila grewup in a world where whole ingredients and Amazonian superfoods were a normalway of life, and because of that, she developed a close relationship with foodand nature from an early age. Living abroad for many years during adulthood,Camila was dissatisfied with the products she could find on the market andtherefore decided to start Botanica Origins together with her sister Giordana.

Botanica Origins offers ingredients in theirpurest form, that are grown naturally, preserving the  environment and celebrating traditions.Nowadays you can choose between Açaí Powder, Baru Nuts, Cacao Nibs, CacaoPowder, and Cashew Nuts - but this is only the beginning.

Jessica Waller - Humble Nut Butter

Maria Shriver - MOSH

Maria and her son Patrick founded MOSH after seeing a family member slowly lose his mind to Alzheimer’s. Their hope is to help save other families from enduring the same experience... MOSH is on a mission to get you thinking more about your brain health!

Jennnifer Wiese - Bee Free Gluten Free

After her oldest son was diagnosed with autism Jennifer started to look at food as medicine, and saw the benefits of a diet free of gluten. Not being able to find products that fit her unique needs (and tastes), she and her mother took to the kitchen to develop gluten-free versions of her son’s favorite foods. Chrisitne Leoniak - Oomph Cooking

Co-founders Christine and Michael began Oomph after seeking a healthy, innovative shortcut for their daughter's restrictive diet. They realized they could elevate home-cooked meals, but still pack nutritional power, with their organic herbs and vegetables blends. Oomph Cooking Blends can be bought online through their website. Mary M. Gersuk - Patterbar

Founder Patter Gersuk started Patterbar in an effort of creating a snack bar option for her children with ingredients that she could trust. Positive feedback from friends and family motivated Patter to launch the company in 2018, and today they sell a variety of flavors like Coconut Cashew and Blueberry Lemon. Gail Becker - Caulipower

Prior to starting Caulipower, Gail Becker had a secure position as a top executive for a marketing firm. It was in 2016 when she took the leap and dove headfirst into the world of entrepreneurship. Having two teenage sons who were diagnosed with celiac disease at a young age, Caulipower was founded with the core mission of creating better-for-you gluten free products. Today the company sells a variety of veggie-based products including cauliflower rice bowls, cauliflower crust pizzas, and even cauliflower crusted chicken tenders.
